A serious artist who studied painting and design at Pratt Institute and Cooper Union, B. “Hap” Kliban (American, 1935–1990) would idly draw his four resident felines as he contemplated ideas for other work. Those drawings found their way to a literary agent, and in 1975 Cat became an instant cartoon sensation. Today Kliban’s Cats are adored icons with millions of fans worldwide. This colorful 324-page desk calendar offers 313 images (Saturdays and Sundays share a page) of B. Kliban’s notorious Cat and his compatriots carrying on with their usual wild abandon. The calendar also includes yearly grids for 2010 and 2011 and pages for notes.
365-day padded tear-off calendar with plastic base. Size: 6 1/4 x 5 1/4 in. (box 7 x 6 in.). ISBN 978-0-7649-4734-6.
