America’s largest and best-known grassroots environmental organization, Sierra Club is also its most
effective. The Club’s 750,000 members have helped to protect more than 160 million acres of
wildlands, more than 8,000 miles of wild and scenic rivers, and many national treasures.
The Club’s core activities are public education, grassroots activism, and lobbying for environmental issues. In addition, Sierra Club sponsors over 20,000 adventure travel outings per year and offers an extensive inner city outings program serving 15,000 disadvantaged youth and adults annually. |
