Pinks, by Charles Rennie Mackintosh. Charles Rennie Mackintosh (1868-1928) may have been Scotland’s finest architect and designer, in his own time and beyond. If his watercolor floral still lifes have not received the wide attention given to his building and interior design, it may be because he turned to painting less for public recognition than for personal satisfaction.

Mackintosh began to paint in earnest at a time when his architectural star had waned. From about 1915, he concentrated increasingly on landscapes and still life flower compositions. With rich hues unseen in his earlier work, these quietly exuberant paintings reveal both extensive botanical knowledge and mastery of tonal variations and color harmonies.

Thoughtfully conceived and engagingly intricate, our 1,000-piece interlocking jigsaw puzzles combine superb color reproduction, stunning and unusual images, and sturdy construction to delight generations of novice and veteran puzzleworkers.
