Edward S. Curtis spent thirty years (1900–1930) traveling among the Native American people of North America. His written and photographic records would be published as The North American Indian, eventually to comprise twenty volumes of illustrated text and twenty portfolios of 700 large photogravures. The thirty reproductions in this book of postcards have been selected from approximately 1,700 first-generation Curtis photoprints in the collections of the Library of Congress. 30 duotone photographs.
