Winslow Homer Boxed NotecardsProduct DescriptionThe great American artist Winslow Homer (1836-1910) began his career as a magazine illustrator working for such popular journals of the time as Harper's Weekly, Appleton's Journal of Literature, and Science and Art. After the Civil War, Homer settled in New York. There he depicted life in the country and the working people of the Adirondacks, among other daily scenes. In 1873, he began to paint in the demanding medium of watercolor. The works of art reproduced in this notecard set reveal both Homer's affections for his hardworking subjects and his mastery of watercolor.
