| The Owl and the Pussycat Boxed NotecardsProduct DescriptionEdward Lear’s Poem Illustrated by David Sheskin David Sheskin’s joyous, fanciful art is a perfect complement to Edward Lear’s classic children’s poem “The Owl and the Pussycat.” Lear (English, 1812–1888) penned the poem, his most famous work, in 1867 for the children of Edward Smith-Stanley, 13th Earl of Derby. Sheskin, a lover of animals and a self-taught artist who works in pen and ink, acrylics, collage, and sculpture, lives in Bethel, Connecticut, with his wife, Vicki. They share their home with two delightful felines, Buffy and Belly Button, and previously lived with a spitfire of a cat named Topspin, who during her eighteen years used up each and every one of her nine lives. Each of the four colorful, charming, and tender images in this assortment of notecards is paired with a verse from Edward Lear’s poem. Contains five each of the following notecards:
