Alex Steelsmith: Interiors Boxed Notecards
Product Description
A self-taught artist born in New England and now residing in Hawaii, Alex Steelsmith has won numerous awards and has produced an enormous body of artwork during the past four decades. He began drawing and painting at an early age—his works were first shown in art galleries while he was still a teen. An itinerant artist for many years, he has lived abroad and in various parts of the United States. His works have been exhibited in more than one hundred showings in galleries and museums, and they are collected internationally.
Steelsmith employs a wide variety of painting and drawing media—including watercolor, oil, tempera, pen and ink, pastel, and gouache—and his range of subject matter includes landscapes, seascapes, portraits, figurative work, and still lifes.
The many different geographical settings evident in his oeuvre vividly reflect the energetic life of a world traveler and mountaineer. At the same time, many of his best-known works evoke a contemplative, peaceful mood, as exemplified by the “interiors” depicted in this notecard assortment.
